The Thieves

Summary

Popie, Yenicall, Chewingum and Zampano are a Korean team of professional thieves. After receiving a call about a job in Hong Kong, the thieves team up with four Hong Kong thieves for the heist of their lives. Their goal: steal a $20 million necklace locked away in a casino owned by the ruthless criminal Wei Yong.

My Comments

Being a huge fan of the drama 'You who came from the stars', I was absolutely delighted to discover Gianna Jun (Yenicall) and Kim Soo Hyun (Zampano) in the same film! The chemistry between the characters is amazing.

This film reminded me of the American film 'Oceans Eleven'. I wouldn't say I loved this film more that 'Oceans Eleven' but it's easy to see why this film is the third best selling film at the South Korean box-office after 'The Host' and 'Avatar'.
The films duration of 135min could have been shorter but overall it was an excellent film with amazing action scenes.

Boy Meets Boy

Summary

Gay Film. Run time: 14:11 minutes.
Boy Meets Boy is based on the meeting and relationship of two boys, Min-soo (Kim Hye-sung) and Seok-i (Lee Hyun-jin). Instead of dialogue, the film portrays the relationship between the two boys using body language and facial expressions.

My Comments

I think the silence of the film gives a cute touch since you pay more attention to the nervousness and happiness you see in their body language rather than depending on the dialogue. Even though it was silent, the director still did a good job of letting you know what was going on.
The only thing I didn't like about this film was the song. You'll know what I mean when you watch it.
Gay films by the same director : Love, 100°C and Just Friends
